  • Map Height and Map Width - The pixel height and width of the map, when the user views the details of a location
  • Map Position - The position of the map in relation to the location description: above, below, or beside text
  • Zoom Level - The default zoom level of the map image: street, city, region, or country
  • Enable Categories - When selected, you can categorize your locations in any way that makes sense to your organization
  • Show Category Summary - If you have entered a category description, it can now be displayed
  • Enable Paging and Page Size - When selected, the locations will be paged for more readable results

  • Enable User Ratings - If selected, and Enable Ratings is selected, registered users will be able to add their own ratings. The rating displayed per location will be the average user rating.
  • Enable User Locations - If selected, users with Edit permission on the Zero-In module instance will be able to create and edit their own locations. Edit Categories will only be available to Administrators (normally, this is available to all Edit users).
  • Enable Single Map - If selected, all locations displayed on a page will have points plotted on a single map above the listed locations. If paging is enabled, only the locations currently displayed will be plotted.
  • Single Map Width and Single Map Height - If Enable Single Map is selected, the pixel width and height of the single map

Locations

Ambiguous Locations

Edit Locations - Ambiguous Addresses

If an address cannot be accurately determined, the mapping service will sometimes return potential candidates, which you can then select.

Edit Location Categories & Tags

Edit Location Categories and Tags

After a location has been saved, categories and tags (if enabled) can then be added to or removed from the location.

Usage Practices

Zero-In is meant to provide two solutions every retailer or organization needs. Location Explorer provides the location directory, listing all locations to the potential customer. It also acts as the data source for the Location Finder, which provides store location services to your potential customers. The Explorer does not have to be made public to your users; however, it is required for the Finder to function.
